Onderzoek

In 2014 is dr. Sebastiaan van der Bent begonnen met zijn promotieonderzoek naar de complicaties bij tatoeages. Sindsdien heeft hij vele onderzoeken verricht, naar onder andere tatoeage- en PMU-complicaties, laserbehandelingen, huidreacties na vaccinaties en skincare. Hij is de eerste en vooralsnog enige in Nederland die is gepromoveerd op dit onderwerp. Zijn proefschrift  is online beschikbaar.

Punch biopsies in tattooed skin: Complications and patient-reported outcomes (JEADV Clinical Practice, 2024)
Korte toelichting: Deze studie laat zien dat minimaal cosmetisch of psychosociaal nadeel ontstaat na punchbiopsie in getatoeëerde huid. Bij 50 patiënten bleek het herstel snel, met weinig complicaties en bij bijna de helft geen zichtbare littekens.
